New Years Minute

Hey, this is your Chaplain again. Well, it’s 2024. So, what does that mean? What does the New Year hold for us? I’ve been thinking about that, and one word that keeps coming to my mind is – CHANGE. There may be lots of changes in just about every area of our lives in the coming year. There will be some wonderful things, and some that might be scary. 2024 will usher in lots of changes in politics, in our nation and around the world. Yes, 2024 will bring lots of changes, but one thing will remain unchanged and unchangeable: God and His love for us as His children.
In Rom. 8:38-39 the Apostle Paul tells us “I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us (as Christians) from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” So, do you feel a little uncertain about 2024? You don’t have to because God doesn’t. He knows exactly what He’s doing. Now, that doesn’t mean your life here in this world is always going to be easy. You may have some really difficult things to go through. But He’ll be right there with you. However, it’s important to remember that these promises are not universal; they are specifically for God’s children. Like a good father, He will take care of His kids. The big question is – are you really one of His? If you’re not sure about that, call me.
