12-17-23 Message

Hey, this is your Chaplain again.  Today I want to remind you of 3 little words that are in the middle of the angelic message the shepherds heard that first Christmas night. “Peace on earth”.

Those words are desperately needed in our world today. But if they were not from God, they would just be an empty promise. However, these are not just hollow words offered by a power-hungry politician. They are not slogans from some organization pleading for money. These are heavenly words, heavy with truth and filled with hope. “Peace On Earth”.

Actually, whether we realize it or not, all of us are desperately longing for His peace. Peace from the fear of our past and peace from the fears of the future. Peace from emotional battles. Peace from the frustration of wondering whether anyone really cares. To all of those concerns, and a thousand others, comes the message of the season that meets the needs of every human life.

God sent Christ so that for the here and now – and for the hereafter, you could have real Peace. This is not a peace intended to last only until the decorations of December come down, or the bills of January come due. This is a powerful Peace meant to rule in your heart and life every day of every year – here on this earth, and then for all eternity.  Christ is not just a Savior for one day during the month of December. He wants to be your Savior and Lord –  every day of your life. If you’ll let Him be that.
Maybe that’s something for you to pray about.
